RMIT University is hosting an annual event in HCMC for International School & Bi-lingual School Counsellors to foster valuable networking opportunities and share best practices in supporting student achievement and well-being.

 

We have designed the 2024 agenda based on feedback obtained in 2023.

Supporting Students and Parents with University Navigation 

Facilitator: Michael Tower (Associate Director, Wellbeing & Counselling, RMIT University)

This session aims to share tools that empower parents and students in navigating university options. These tools help families evaluate career options and university choices to determine the best fit.  Attendees will have an opportunity to share their own approaches with one another as well.

High School to University Transition 

Presenters: RMIT students panel, facilitated by Jodie Altan (Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor, Engagement, RMIT University)

Roundtable Discussions with university students: ensuring a smooth transition from secondary to university

Presenter: Kari Withers (Counsellor, ISHCMC) 

To gather insights from current university students about their transition experiences from secondary school to university, and to discuss strategies that can help future students navigate this critical period more effectively.

Counselor & Principal Job- alike   

Presenter: Michael Tower (Associate Director, Wellbeing & Counselling, RMIT University)

The session aims to enhance collaboration between school counselors and principals by aligning their roles and responsibilities. Participants will engage in discussions and activities that highlight effective communication strategies, shared goals, and coordinated approaches to address student needs.
